Ten members of Women of the ELCA attended guest night at United Methodist Church to help them celebrate their 135th anniversary. Following a delicious salad buffet, a program on the diversity of the church followed.

The quilters would like to thank all the people who helped pack up the quilts & kits on Sun. April 10th. There were 180 quilts, 10 baby quilts, 60 lbs. of bandages, 10 school kits, 2 sewing kits,  8 health kits, 15 fabric kits, & 13 layettes. Also thanks to Bunn, Fareway, & Hy-Vee for providing boxes for us. G & H Shipping takes them to St. Paul for us and we are very grateful to them for that service. The bandages were taken to G&H Shipping in Greenfield. They will transport them without charge to Minneapolis, MN. Lucille Lundy of Orient brought 19 baby quilts in so those & our 10 will be taken to Broadlawns Hospital in Des Moines. They are used for babies at risk. Thank you to all of you who continue to support us through your work, material, & donations. There are many, many people who benefit from this so may we all continue to work in the service of the Lord. The last day of quilting will be May 31st.

$750 was made from the spring sale. Also 9 boxes of men & children’s clothing were taken to G & H Shipping after the spring sale. Thank you to those who worked, donated items or donated monetarily, or baked for the bake sale or the kitchen. It takes a joint effort on everyone’s part to make this a success.
